This month marked my 5th year of following Trim Healthy Mama. over the past 5 years I have learned so much about nutrition, health, exercise and myself. I never thought buying one book on a whim after overhearing a conversation would have changed my life so much. I set off looking for a healthy way to get the last stubborn 10 pounds off after having my 3rd child. She was 4 at the time and those last 10 pounds, of a 55 pound weight gain during pregnancy, was hanging around. I had tried many diets, calorie counting, extreme exercise programs, and even some of diet supplements with no success. Buying the Trim Healthy Mama Plan book started as a what can it hurt, implementing the plan took time. I fell off plan, eating candie and chips, and had to push to get going again many times in those first months. I learn what foods are truly healthy and how that food affected my body. I got those 10 pounds off that 1st year even with the struggle of learning a new way to eat. Food was no longer the enemy and I never went hungry. So it was a no brainer to keep eating this way, besides it made me feel great and helped me control my anxiety. Over time I have lost another 5-10 pounds depending on the season (winter weight is a real thing), but mostly I am focused on maintaining my weight and being healthy.

Exercise is a big part of my life. I do at least one 20 minute workout 6 days a week, plus move a lot. I like to walk, will do random squats and lunges throughout the day, and do mini 5 minute workouts at random. This is me I don't sit still long unless I am reading but I have been seen doing that while on the treadmill. I do try to keep it in balance if I don't feel like working out I don't push it, body gives me the ques I need to make sure I am not over doing the workouts. THM has taught me this part of my life needs balance as much as my eating does.
Speaking of balance and eating, over the past 5 years I have went from learning S, E and FP, to favoring S and I mean deep S, to now having an E a day. Some Days I even have 2 Es, or do an E day, I also include FP's on a regular and occasionally have a FP day. You see even though I am at goal weight, I am a person who can not handle many XO's or heavy S meals. These will cause me to gain weight, as I have a body that likes to hold on to weight. This is something THM has taught me our bodies are all different and have different needs, we need to learn to listen to our bodys to find what works best for our individual needs.
The other side of THM that really changed my life.
Picture is not all the reading I have read many books in their digitale version.

Reading that one book sent me down a rabbit hole of reading many other books about nutrition than fitness than health than mindset each of these books has helped me grow to live a healthier life. The books led to listening to podcasts which led to more books, it turned to to a cycle of learning that I am loving.
I am able to be an example for our children as well as teach them a healthy lifestyle and healthy habit that will serve them well into adulthood. This is important to me as both myself and my husband have health problems that run in the family, and I want our children to know your lifestyle can beat your genetics. I have ran through the Trim Healthy You criculam with our 3 children and have enjoyed watching them applied it when choosing food.
Taking the leap and becoming a THM coach has pushed me out of my comfort zone in a good way, it has helped me work though some anxiety issues as well as pushed me to be more outgoing.
Where am I going in the future
The THM way of eating is the way I plan on continuing to eat, making changes as I need to meet the needs of my body. Mindset is what I am currently working on, mostly being present in my meals, slowing down, enjoy my food, and eating without distraction. wheil the best I can eat without distraction with 3 children of our own, a house full of children I watch, and 2 dogs needing me throughout the day. I plan to continue coaching and helping others in their THM journey, while continuing to educate myself. I am hoping to increase my coaching abilities within the next year by getting my health coach certification. I want this certification to allow me to help a wider range of people in a wider range of ways.
Health is a passion of mine, I want to help others live a healthier life so they feel their best, as well as help them prevent health problems.
