How I Started Trim Healthy Mama

To understand why I choose Trim Health Mama you have to know a little more about my past. I was what some would call a chunky child, even though I slimmed down some in my teen years I was not happy with the way I looked. I had developed some very unhealthy eating habits like only eating one meal a day most days, or eating all day long otherdays. After graduating high school life got busy and my eating got worse as easy to grab convent food became my go to. Life kept happening with baby number one in 2006, baby number 3 in 2009 and baby number in 2011. Each pregnancy was hard on me, in the 1st 3 months I was sick and lost 15-20 pounds. By the 4th month I was finally able to eat again and gained back the weight I lost very quickly. By the end of each pregnancy I gained 50-80 pounds on top of the weight I gained back after the first 3 months. With each kid came a new extreme to get the weight off and for some reason no matter what I did with the last one I could not get the last 10 pound off. I tried a lot of different diets, supplements, and workout programs, nothing gave me the lasting results, and they left me lacking for energy.

In the years between baby 2 and 3 my father passed unexpectedly of a heart attack, this was an eye opener to the health problems that run in the family. This sent me looking for the things I could do to improve my health so I am around for my children as long as possible, but still clueless as to where to start.

It all fell into place in 2016 while at a birthday party for my niece I overheard a conversation about THM, I came home looked it up online and ordered the plan book, followed by the cookbook a few weeks later. It took me months to figure out how to make the plan work for me and I fell into a bowl of ice cream more times than I can count. That 1st year I didn’t even try on holidays or when we were around other people I just ate whatever was there and looked good. Then after about a year and half it all fell into place. I didn’t want the off plan food as much as I was happy with the food that was on plan.

With THM I learned how to eat to fuel my body, and that to not punish myself with exercise but to enjoy it. I have found more energy to get more done in a day, experience less headaches, and lost those last 10 pounds plus a few more. THM has also led me down a road of learning as much as I can about health, wellness and exercise.
