July Supper Time eats

June is coming to an end, summer is in full swing, July brings family fun, camping, cookouts, swimming, and so much more. To stay on track during the hot fun filled summer days having a meal plan is even more important. I only plan supper (dinner) in our home since it is the only meal we are all home to eat together. Big news in our home after close to 3 years my husband (Jason) is no longer working the overnight shift meaning he will be home for supper, when he is not in the fields. This also means I have to stick with foods I know he likes for suppers, since he is by far the fussiest eater in our home. You will notice that supper tends to be S meals not just because these are the meals my family likes best (with an added side most nights to make a XO), but because I find I sleep better with S or FP meals in the evening.

Before planning this month's meals I asked each of our 3 kids to give me 2 meals they wanted to have in July and worked those meals throughout the month, bonus as this gave me 6 less meals I had to pick. I am keeping my 2 leftover night a week to reduce food waste, not that it really goes to waste since we have enough animales around that farm that enjoy what we can't finish. These leftover nights also give me a break from cooking 5 days a week, cooking breakfast and lunch for our kids and the kids I watch, as well as something different for myself most days.
This is a plan that does not mean it will not change, life happens, things come up, and we go with it. If there is a day we want something different we change it, if we are invited to go somewhere we go, what is life if you can't be flexible with your plan.
