In your Trim Healthy Mama journing like any health journey what works for someone else may not work for you. We all have different food preferences, health conditions, support systems, food availability, budget needs, personalities, point of view, out looks, and life circumstances these can each affect our individual journey in different ways. For this reason there is no set number of S,E,FP ,XO, or S helpers set for a person to follow. Knowing yourself will help you find the balance need to make the trim healthy lifestyle last.

Start simple with your food preferences, we all have foods we dislike and that is ok,for me, I have never liked ham and cherries. Go ahead and make a list of the foods you dislike or have allergies to, its ok. Is it a long list? Highlight any foods on the list that are food allergies, and leave those food alone. As for the foods you don't like is there some that you would be willing to try again if so circle them leave all the others right there and move on you don't have to eat them. It is ok not to like everything even if its something that's good for you, but keep an open mind and if there is something you have not tried in a while maybe give it a try to see if your taste has changed. Most important knowing your food preferences will help you enjoy eating the food you like that will nourish your body and improve your health, noone is going to make a lifestyle out of eating foods they don't like. Trim Healthy Mama is about food freedom, you don't have to like everything for it to work for you. This all applies to food availability and budgets as well, if you can not get a food in your location or can not afford something that is ok. Work the plan with the foods/ingredients you have available to you and can fit into your budget.

For many diet/lifestyle changes are being made because of a health condition. Those dietary changes your doctor recommends can be worked into the trim healthy lifestyle, most of the time by adjusting the number of S, FP and E meals to fit your needs. This will be a personal thing and I recommend doing your research on whatever health condition you have to find the right balance for you.

We all have different support systems, and sometimes the one we need to support us the most is not there for use. Know who it is that will support your journey to a trimmer healthier version of you. You may need to distance yourself for those that are not supportive of you journey or have a that hard talk with them, let them know what you are doing and why its important to you, let them know its ok for them not to want to join you on your journey but that you would like them to be on your side. Asking people for the support you need lets them know what you are needing from them. Remember people are not mind readers. If you can not find the support you need in your friends and family their are many free facebook and other social media options available, of if your budget allows this may be where you find a THM coach to support you along your journey.

Our individual personalities, point of view and outlook affects many aspects of our health journey, from trying new things to sticking with things. If you are a negative person, always looking for the worst and say you can't do something, your journey is going to be harder. These are the people who need to self evaluate and take control of their thoughts, turn the can't to cans, and this does take work, just keep in mind you can control your thoughts. A person who is use to everything coming easy to them may take it harder if the stumble and eat something not on plan. These are the people that need to be reminded of grace and that it's ok to fall it is part of leaning, what is importante is that you get back up and keep going forward. Knowing how you look at life around you helps give you the mindset that will work for you to make this a lasting lifestyle.

We are all in different stages of life or seasons and our circumstances are not the same. The THM plan works because it can be customized for your life weather you are a teen, single, married, a mother, work away from the home, pregnant, nursing, premenopausal, in perimenopause, menopausal, or postmenopausal. Look at where you are in life and work the plan for that season in a way that benefits you.

Knowing yourself is the best why to be successful in the THM plan. We all have different needs and it is time to embrace those needs and use them to work the THM plan in a way that works for you so you can live your best life while finding your trim as well as health.
