It Halloween time, the kids have went trick or treating or well meaning family and friends have dropped off candy.
In our home the kids will not be trick or treating this year but I have bought them their favorite candies as a treat and I am sure some family members will be dropping off more candy for them. I will have some THM friendly options on hand for myself to keep me out of the sugar filled candy, some boughten and some homemade.

You may be thinking how am I going to resist the temptation of all this sugar. Never fear I have tips for THMers of all walks of life.
Sweet treats to buy
Yes there are a lot of options to get from the store you just need to know what you're looking for. Chocolate glorious chocolate, frist the THM store now has dark chocolate, dark chocolate with almonds and milk chocolate candy bars. Lilly's chocolates have many options that can be found in some stores or on Amazon
You can always go with 85% or higher dark chocolate that can be fond most places and is the cheapest option for store bought chocolate. I go for the 90% dark, and often I will put a smear of sugar free peanut butter on it.
I have yet to find a truly on plan candy that's not chocolate (there may be some feel free to let me know if you find one) I find Zollipops and Zaffi Taffy to be close and feel they could be used occasionally, I like them for my children.
Cookies and Bars
Lets face it sometimes these fill that need for sweets just as well as candie

Find what works for you! Keep in mind it is easy to get stuck in a heavy S rut with all the candies and treats be mindful to try some FP treats and be sure to get in those E meals and a few Deep S meals.
Also if the sugar filled candy calls to you and you can't resist don't be discouraged, just start again in 3 hours with a great THM meal or snack. Give yourself Grace when you need it.
